Bluewolf (www.bluewolf.com) today announced it was selected by Gumiyo (www.gumiyo.com), a leading provider of “m-Commerce” mobile marketing solutions, to deliver advanced management for its virtualized infrastructure in Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) cloud database platform. Gumiyo will outsource the management of its Cloud-based LAMP stack to Bluewolf’s open source and Cloud Computing experts. Additionally, Bluewolf will provide System Administration and 24×7 monitoring and support for Gumiyo’s MySQL environment. Bluewolf is the leader in U.S.-based remote managed services and has more than a decade of Cloud Computing expertise.
Bluewolf enables AWS customers to realize the benefits of Database-as-a-Service (DaaS) through a complete range of consulting services from Bluewolf. Bluewolf’s Cloud Transformation Solutions™ for AWS include helping AWS customers plan and implement the migration of their solutions to a cloud-based infrastructure, managing their IT environments in the cloud with remote database administration, and custom development consulting services. AWS is a subsidiary of Amazon.com.
Gumiyo will utilize CloudView, Bluewolf’s custom monitoring technology for environments housed on Amazon’s Cloud platform. This proprietary tool provides visibility and access into customers’ AWS Cloud resources and proactive monitoring capabilities, including alerts. CloudView also aggregates metrics and usage data via customizable dashboards. The first of its kind, CloudView is a custom-built portal, giving Bluewolf dynamic access to monitor and manage Gumiyo’s environment remotely, securely, and through the Cloud.
In 2007, Gumiyo was the first company to turn to AWS’s EC2 and S3 solutions for all of its hosting and storage needs. “We jumped at the chance to build and run all of our applications in the Cloud in order to meet the scalability and performance requirements of our web-hosted apps. Now, with Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3 in place, we can focus on developing the product and the market, rather than worrying about the framework and the supporting data centers,” says Jef Rice, VP of Operations and Development.
He added, “At this phase we are turning to Bluewolf as our outsourcing partner for database administration, system administration and web-server administration needs because of its extensive managed services and Cloud computing experience. By partnering with Bluewolf, we can offload the monitoring and management of these systems completely and focus on driving business.”
Holly Gurian, VP of Operations for Bluewolf said, “Our clients, such as Gumiyo, are looking beyond traditional hardware to Cloud-based solutions for their database infrastructure needs. Bluewolf’s decade of experience transforming businesses through the Cloud is just what our customers need to begin harnessing Cloud-based database technologies. Bluewolf’s Cloud Transformation Solutions are specifically designed to help our customers, like Gumiyo, unlock further opportunities in Amazon’s Cloud.”
“Cloud-enabled database technologies like AWS have the potential to revolutionize IT departments by aligning them with the IT needs of today’s CIO,” said Michael Kirven, co-founder and principal, Bluewolf. “Bluewolf has been successful in the Cloud for a decade now. Combine that with Bluewolf’s expertise in remote database administration, and it’s clear that we are uniquely positioned to support AWS customers in their IT and business transformations.”
